About Nepal

Nepal is a small country which is in the southern part of the Asia which lies between India and China. It is small in size but it is a world in itself where you can find every type of Climate, Religion, adventurous places you want.

Nepal is a developing country, Nepal can be defined as a Small, landlocked, Fearless, home of Himalayas and mountain, Treasure of White coal, Birthplace of Buddha, Full of Religious sites and having a different religion with a variety of people.

Nepal is a biodiversity country. Every type of climate found here, It has altitude range 59 meters to 8848 meter which is unbelievable. In this altitude range, One can find every type of Climate and many more which is difficult to find in other countries i.e which is bigger than that as well. Nepal is divided into 3 regions i.e Himalayan, Hilly and Terai.


The region of Nepal:

A.Himalayan/Mountain Region
Started from Himalayan, It is located on the upper part. The climate of this region is Cold. World’s most highest Peaks are located in this region. Like world’s highest mountain M.T Everest lies here and Its height is 8848 meter.  Another one is M.T Kanchenjunga which is world’s third highest mountain along it there are other many Mountains which is located here. Many rare plants and animal also live here, like Panch aule, Cordyceps, and you want to know more, I have provided you links. Rough type of soil found here. 6.73% of total population of Nepal Lives in this region. The population density of mountain region is 34 per sq.km. This the region is less developed than both Hilly and mountain region.


B. Hilly Region
Hilly Region lies in the middle part of Nepal. The climate of this region is moderate. Semi-fertile type of Soil found here. 43.00% of total population of people lives in this region. Many people are engaged in Animal rearing. Many historical sites are located in this region If you want to know, I will provide you a link, below. This region is more developed than mountain region but less developed than Terai Region.

C. Terai Region
Terai Region lies on the Lower part of Nepal. The climate of this region is usually Hot. Fertile type of Soil Found here. 50.27% of the total population of people lives in this region. Terai region is called Food Granary of Nepal. In term of Food, People of Hilly and The Himalayan region also depends on it. The soil is fertile here, So many people Engaged in Agriculture. The FACT 66% of Nepalese are engaged in Agriculture. Most of the big Industries and factories are also Located in this region. This region is the most developed region.

Economic Indicator.

Per capita income of Total Nepalese in average(Annually) is $682. Total GDP of Nepal is 21.14 USD Billion. Annually growth rate of GDP in percent is 6.3%. The total contribution of Agriculture in GDP is 247691 NPR Million. Total GDP from Service is 112493 NPR Million and From Transport is 85785 NPR Million. Inflation Rate of Nepal in monthly is 6% which is Very high. Export price is 163 Index Points and Import prices are 111 index points in Monthly. In total labors of Nepal, 3.2% of labor are Unemployed. The daily Interest rate in Nepal is 7%.

Caste

Nepal is a garden of 125 ethics/caste. Different people of different caste live in same society but they never fight with each other. In fact, they use to live as a brotherhood. So that’s why this country is also known for Peacefull Country comparison to other South Asian Countries.

1. Chhetri with 16.6% of total percentage.
2. Brahmins with 12.2% of total percentage.
3. Magar with 7.1% of total percentage.
4. Tharu with 6.6% of total percentage.
5. Tamang with 5.8% of total percentage.
6. Newar with 5.0% of total percentage.
7. Kami with 4.8% of total percentage.
8. Muslim with 4.4% of total percentage.
9. Yadav with 4.0% of total percentage.
10. Rai with 2.3% of total percentage.
11. Others with 31.2% of total percentage.

The composition of Population by Mother's tongue:

1. Nepali with 44.6% of total percentage.
2. Maithili with 11.7% of total percentage.
3. Bhojpuri with 6.0% of total percentage.
4. Tharu with 5.8% of total percentage.
5. Tamang with 5.1% of total percentage.
6. Newar with 3.2% of total percentage.
7. Bajjika with 3.0% of total percentage.
8. Magar with 3.0% of total percentage.
9. Doteli with 3.0% of total percentage.
10. Urdu with 2.6% of total percentage.
11. Others with 12.0% of total percentage.

Religious Distribution of Population

1. Hinduism 81.34% of total percentage.
2. Buddhism 9.00% of total percentage.
3. Islam 4.39% of total percentage.
4. Kirat 3.05% of total percentage.
5. Christianity 1.41% of total percentage.
6. Others 0.81% of total percentage.

Natural Resources

Natural resources mean productive resources provided by nature in free of cost which is also called as a natural capital. It is very rich in natural resources like Water Resources, Forest Resources, and Mineral resources.

Water Resources

Water resources are the important natural resources of Nepal and It is very rich in Natural resources. In term of Water, It is the richest country in the South Asian country. Major water source in its is Glacier, Snowmelt, Rainfall, and groundwater. Rivers of Nepal are Classified into three types, They are:

The first Category contains the four main river system of the country: Gandaki, Koshi, Karnali, and Mahakali. They all originate from glaciers and snow-fed lakes.
The River of Second category contains Bagmati, West Rapti, Babai, Kamala, Kankai and Mechi etc and they all originate from Mahabharat range.
The River of Third Category originate from Streams and rivulets; these rivers cause flash flood during monsoon and remain dry or very little flow in a dry season.

Role/Importance of Water resources.
For the overall economic development of the country like Nepal, Water resources are very much important. Importance of water resources are as follow:

a. Development of Agriculture Sector
About 66% of the total population of the people of Nepal are engaged in Agriculture. Agriculture cannot be imagined without Water source because for Agriculture, Irrigation is very important and Water is the basis of Irrigation. Irrigation is the lifeblood of agriculture.

b. Development of Industrial Sector
To generate Industries, a large amount of fuel is needed. Due to the lack of adequate electricity, Industries of Nepal has to use diesel plant which is very costly. If adequate electricity generated from the river of this country, development of Industries will be there.

c. Development of Tourism
Nepal is very rich in river, ponds, lakes, waterfall. For which, Tourist visit Nepal for Fishing, Boating, Rafting etc.

d. Basis of Health
Development of the sources of water can helps to provide pure drinking water for People which helps to improve the living standard of People of Nepal.

e.For the conservation of Forest
In Nepal almost, 67.6% of energy is consumed by forest. People use Woods in substitute of Fuel, Coal etc. By which it leads to deforestation. So, if there is proper development of adequate Hydroelectricity from the river of Nepal. Forest will be protected.

The problem of Water Resource Development.
1.In-adequacy of Capital
Nepal has not sufficient Capital which is required to develop Water resources.

2. Lack of technology and technician
Technologies and Technicians are required in order to develop water source but Nepal lacks such resources due to this It has to buy technologies and technicians from other countries.

3. Lack of transport and communication
Most of the hydro-electricity projects are lies in Hilly region of Nepal. But, there is no proper facility of transportation and communication in this country.

4. Lack of Market In Nepal, Market for water resources product is limited because the purchasing power of Nepalese people is very low and the only foreign market in India.

5. Political Instability
In Nepal, there is a frequent change in Government. So new program, project, and policies came with a change in Government.

Forest Resources.

In past, Nepal is very rich in forest resources. It is evident from the past in Nepali saying “Hariyo bans Nepal ko Dhan” i.e  Green forest is the wealth of Nepal. Currently,40.36% of the area is covered by forest and 4.38% of the area is covered by shrub. Altogether 44.74% of the area covered by forest and shrub.

Importance of Forest Resources
a.For preserving natural ecosystem, where at least 43% of total area of land should be covered by forest.
b.The backbone of agriculture, where foods for animals and helps to maintain Underground water.
c.The basis of raw materials for industries and construction i.e Especially for Forest-based industries.
d.In Nepal almost 67.6% of energy consumed by Forest.
e.Promotion of Tourism i.e forest helps to maintain the natural beauty and protect rare animals.
f.The main source of Revenue from Public.
g.Increase in Export and decrease in Import from another country.

Mineral Resources

One of the most important natural resources like Gold, Silver, Copper, Coal, Limestone, Gas etc which are found in the womb of the earth is known as Mineral resources. Nepal being a hilly country has high posses to have a sufficient Minerals. The contribution of Mineral resources in the GDP is only 0.63%, it is because of the problems created in the development of Mineral resources.

Importance of Mineral Resources

a. Development of Agriculture sector= For the manufacturing of agriculture tools metals is used.
b.Development of Industrial sector= Mineral based Industries like Marble, lime, Cement,lead etc and to run Machines and equipment of Industry, Mineral resources is needed.
c.Development of transport, communication, and electricity need heavy types of equipment and all are the outcome of mineral resources.
d.Source of energy= Energy like coal, petrol, and diesel can be used to meet their demand. From this, it helps to reduce the trade deficit.
e.Source of public revenue= In the development of Mineral resources, there will be also the development of large-scale Industries by which The government can Impose Value Added Tax (VAT).

Problems of Mineral resources.
1.In-adequacy of Capital

Before writing about tourism in this country. Let's discuss Tourist. Tourist means those people who travel to other places for a certain period of time then returns to his/her own country. There are two types of tourist, One is a domestic tourist and another is an International tourist. Domestic tourist is those types of tourist who travels in their own country and International tourist means those who travel to Another country. Now discuss what is tourism? Tourism is the activity of business or business activity related to the service provided to the tourist where they live. Tourism contributes nearly 5% of the total GDP of the country.

Importance of tourism.
Tourism is very important for the overall economic development of Nepal. Some of the major Importance are as follow- a. The contribution of National income, b. Creation of varied jobs, c. Development of trade, d. Earning foreign currency, e. Conservation of art and culture, f. Support for cottage Industry, g. Publicity in all over the world, h. Development of Infrastructure etc.

Potential.
It is a small landlocked country but its natural and cultural diversity is very peculiar. It is a world in itself. Almost, Every type of Climate found here. Here are the following resources which are important For expanding and improving tourist Industry in Nepal.

1. Challenging Mountains and rivers= It is a country full of Mountains, Number of High mountains are located in Nepal. There are many rivers as well which I already explained above.
2. Great variety of Beautiful scenery= This Country is very Rich in Natural beauty. It’s a country which Tourist actually want. There are many things which fascinate the visitors like snow-cal The Himalayas which leaps up the visitor’s heart, Deep gorges valleys, hills, plains, gurgling rivers, waterfalls, forest with rare animals and plants e.t.c.
3. Good varied Climate=  Every type of Climate i.e Hot, Moderate and Cold found in Nepal. In Hilly and mountain region tourist from Europe and North America attract.
4. Rich animal and plant life= Different landform and varies climate hosted many plant and animal. Many Endangered plant and animal are protected here which attracts the tourist Easily.
5. Interesting Culture= AS I already explained above that this amazing country is a Garden of 125castes. Different caste people have different Cultures which tourist attracts.

History of Nepal

From the very past, It has a very long History, It is one of the oldest Country in South Asia. Here I will provide you with a short summary of History, to know more I will provide you a link below. Many kings/dynasty has ruled this country for a very long time which is given below:
Kirat dynasty ruled in 8000 B.S. Where In 1150 B.S there come a lichavi period. After a lichavi period in 1750 BS rue of Malla begin. Shah dynasty ruled In 2008 CE and In 2008 CE and the cruelest dynasty in the history of Nepal Rana dynasty begins in 1951 CE and In 2007 BS. But, In 1990 People of Nepal voice over the democracy.

Facts
a. Starting from the flag, Nepal’s flag is one and only flag in the world which is not rectangular. This flag has two triangles. It is believed that one triangle reflects the Himalayas of this country and another triangle reflects two major religion of this country i.e Hinduism and Buddhism.
b. Nepal is worldwide famous because of their brave Gorkha Armies. They prefer to die rather than run away. When India got freedom from Britain. Britain armies get so much inspired From Gorkhas that they took many Gorkhas to Britain. Even in present, there are more than 4000 Gorkhas in the British army. In Indian army also there are more than 40000 Gorkhas.
c. As talking about the Bravery of Gorkhas. In 2010 in the month of September Once a Single Gorkha defeats 30 Taliban on his own by using 400 bullets, 17 grenades, a mine and even a tripod. For that, he gets a medal from the queen of Britain.
d. At past, Nepal was a Hindu country but now it is a secular country. Another fact is that the A cow is a national animal and it is illegal to kill the Cow. This is the reason you can see Cows everywhere in the street in this country.
e. Do you know about the strange animal called Yeti? It is believed that it lives in The Himalayas of this country.
f. In only under 15 km of Kathmandu valley. There are more than 7 world heritage sites.
g. The light of the Asia lord Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal.
h. Out of the 10 highest mountain in the world, 8 are in Nepal which includes Mount Everest (8848m height) is the highest mountain in the world.
i. Once  It is very famous for the Tabacco, weed …. but now it is illegal to purchase sale and to take.
j. There are more than 870 species of birds in Nepal. You will not believe that Even that much species are not in Continent Europe.
k. Nepal is one of those countries where you can see Bengal Tiger and one-horned Rhino in the same place.
l. Smallest person in the world Chandra Bahadur ( height: 54.6 CM) is also from here.
M. Main Character of the Ramayan (based on true story), Sita’s birthplace was here in Mithila.
N. Momo is the famous fast food of this Country.
O. In Many Countries, like India and other Asian countries, have their holiday in Sunday but It has its Holiday on Saturday.
